The purpose of a Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy is to provide the reasonable and appropriate reimbursement of expenses and provision of facilities to councillors to help them undertake their civic duties. At the same time, it supports transparency and accountability in the reimbursement of expenses and provision of facilities to the Lord Mayor and Councillors.

The draft Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy has been developed using the Office of Local Government’s Policy Template with changes made to align with CN practices and procedures. CN’s additional clauses are depicted as a lower case letter e.g. 5.2a.

CN’s current policy is available on CN’s website.
