With its rich history and vibrant community, Wallsend has been a cornerstone of Newcastle's story. We're dedicated to delivering projects that not only benefit the community but also pave the way for future progress.

Over recent years we have upgraded footpaths, stormwater pits, and streetscapes to enhance the overall appeal of the Wallsend town centre, including extensive road resurfacing of Nelson Street, resulting in smoother and safer travel for all road users.

Construction of dual-lane road upgrades is underway at Longworth Avenue and Minmi Road, to alleviate traffic congestion in the growing western corridor.

We're also committed to creating safer and more accessible cycling and pedestrian pathways, as well as enhancing flood mitigation measures to bolster Wallsend's resilience to floods.

Our vision for the renewal of Wallsend is long-term and aligns with our Community Strategic Plan, 2040.
