We work hard year-round to maintain our local parks, sports facilities, libraries, pools, coastline, and environment, ensuring Newcastle stays a great place to live, work and play.

We invite you to join best-selling local author Natalie Murray in conversation with Katherine McLean, Director - Hunter Writers’ Centre for a wonderful night of storytelling at Newcastle City Library. Natalie's latest book, Lights, Camera, Love is a sizzling grumpy-meets-sunshine romance that explores the notions of hope, belonging and finding an unimaginable kind of love.

Join us to celebrate the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology! This talk is presented by the Australian Institute of Physics's 2025 Marie Curie Lecturer - Dr Danielle Holmes.

Tailored for people living with dementia and their carers, the Memory Room encourages conversation, laughter and connection. The theme-based sessions allow participants to step back in time using music and art to enliven memory and recollection.

Join us for stories and adventures on the first Wednesday of each month, during school terms, exploring different items in the Museum collection.

Newcastle Libraries facilitate a range community book clubs across the city. Participants come together to read, discuss and get creative with their favourite books.

Location: Wallsend Library, Newcastle City Library, Adamstown Library and Hamilton Library
Come along to learn the fundamentals (and the fun) of sewing! This is a Beginner level workshop series, spread over four Wednesday evenings.
Most fabrics and tools supplied. Sewing machines will also be available for everyone to use, however if you have your own and would like to learn on that then please bring it along!
Cost: $150 for a 4-week program

This short course focuses on beginner skills and building confidence in using computers. In partnership with TAFE NSW.

Practice speaking in a relaxed environment. Improve your confidence with communication in social situations.
Cost: Free - This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, eligibility criteria applies

Weekly tech help sessions to help seniors learn the basics of computing and using personal devices. Supported by a BeConnected grant.
