Winner - Street and Park Trees (Adult)
Title: Endurance
Photographer: Peter Masters
'Standing sentinel next to Newcastle Beach, this ancient fig tree commands the landscape like a living sculpture. Its exposed roots, twisted and gnarled by a century of wind, cascade down the embankment like rivers of wood. They tell me stories of survival, of holding fast against erosion and storm. This tree speaks to me of a world that is ancient and magical. It reminds me that true beauty can come from resilience.'

Runner Up - Street and Park Trees (Adult)
Title: A living work of art
Photographer: Mahafuj Ali
'My street tree is a natural artist, infusing color and life into the scene. Its leaves dance in the breeze, crafting a living canvas that evolves with the seasons. Every day, it presents a new masterpiece, painted in shades of green, gold, and sometimes red. With its ever-changing beauty, it transforms my window into a frame for nature's art.'

Winner - Street and Park Trees (Junior)
Title: My paperbark
Photographer: Iris Alder
'This paperbark tree has been an important part of my life growing up in Maryville. Every afternoon, after primary school, my friends and I would climb this tree, spending hours talking in its sprawling branches. Our parents would come to find us, and linger there too. It became a meeting place, and I still see families gathering around it today.'

Runner Up - Street and Park Trees (Junior)
Title: Old Winding Tree
Photographer: Charlotte Wilkins
'I love this tall old gum tree on Fernleigh Track, with all it’s interesting winding branches. I think it wants to be a vine!'

Winner - People and Street and Park Trees (Adult)
Title: Walking amongst giants
Photographer: Andrew Marsh
'King Edward Park is a great place to view some giant Norfolk Pines, but also along "The Terrace" a large row of Palm trees stand tall against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.'

Runner Up - People and Street and Park Trees (Adult)
Title: Soul Hub Sunset
Photographer: Alison West
'This beautiful big Moreton Bay Fig towers over Pacific Park in Newcastle. During Friday Chill, a free live music event run by Soul Hub, it was the perfect place to sit amongst its winding roots and listen (or dance) along to the music as the sun went down.'

Winner - People and Street and Park Trees (Junior)
Title: Reading Tree
Photographer: Lillian Evans
'I've loved this tree since Covid and still love it to this day, I love climbing up and reading in it. We ride and roller blade past here and stop to rest in the shade.'

Title: Trees are for climbing
