Overview

An existing Planning Agreement was entered into for the development approved under DA2022/00448, which includes a monetary contribution that will be used towards local public amenities or infrastructure to support the implementation of the Wickham Masterplan.

As the applicant is seeking to amend DA2022/00448, an administrative amendment must be made to the Planning Agreement to include a reference to the modification application number (MA2023/00397).

City of Newcastle (CN) is proposing to amend a Planning Agreement at 10 Dangar Street, Wickham with the developer of the site, Dangar St Wickham Pty Ltd, to reflect this administrative change.

There are no other amendments to the Planning Agreement.

MA2023/00397 is being re-notified and exhibited concurrently with the Draft Amended Planning Agreement and may be viewed on CN's Application Tracker.

A Planning Agreement is a legal agreement entered into by a planning authority, such as CN, and a developer. Under a Planning Agreement, a developer agrees to provide or fund community benefits such as public amenities, public services, affordable housing, transport, or other infrastructure.

Planning Agreements must be accompanied by an Explanatory Note to assist the public in understanding the Planning Agreement. An Explanatory Note will outline what the Planning Agreement is proposing, how it delivers public benefit, and why it is acceptable and within the public interest.
