Council at its meeting on 25 October resolved to publicly exhibit the draft section 6.04 renewal corridors of Newcastle Devlopment Control Plan 2012 (DCP) which consolidates five DCP sections for Hamilton, Mayfield, Islington, Broadmeadow and Adamstown, into one section.

The proposed changes support greater consistency with City of Newcastle's adopted strategies as a means to implement planning priorities, relevant legislation or guidelines and best practice controls to guide envisaged built form outcomes.
