Express your interest in shaping the future of Bathers Way - King Edward Park

City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking expressions of interest to form a Community Reference Group (CRG) to help inform planned upgrades to the section of Bathers Way that runs through King Edward Park. This section will extend from previous works at The Terrace car park, through King Edward Park, connecting to Shortland Esplanade, and the path which continues onto South Newcastle Beach.

Bathers Way is a continuous path linking our iconic beaches including Merewether, Dixon Park, Bar Beach, Newcastle and Nobbys. Selected members of the CRG will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the project team as concept designs are developed, and help shape one of the final sections of Bathers Way to be upgraded.

The CRG is designed to represent a broad range of stakeholders/user groups and community members, including residents from each of the City's four Wards, people who have lived experience with a disability, a range of ages, genders, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

Diversity of members is important in enabling the CRG to function as an independent body that is both inclusive and representative of the wider Newcastle community.

Thank you to everyone who expressed their interest in shaping the future of Bathers Way - King Edward Park.
Applications have now closed, and will be reviewed by a CN panel. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome.
